Hi,

I am looking for a case hardening steel equivalent to DIN 14NiCr18; it has to have a Yield Strength of 900MPa and it has to be able to take surface cementation up to 65HRc.

Obviously, if there is a steel out there that has this hardness down to the core, it will also do well.

14NiCr18 is good but I can't seem to find a supplier that will sell me only 5m of 20mm diameter rod - that's all I need, for a special application.

Thanks,

dulmant

dulmant,

As you probably know there are no direct equivalent of this material. Suggest you get an upto date copy of Stahlschlussel and see what other manufacturers of this material are available and see if they have a stockist in your area.

I have a 1983 copy and can give you the names contained in this edition but it is bound to have been superceded by now.
