Due to space limitation, we were forced to put a sewer wet-well in the middle of a residential street (light residential traffic with max speed limit 30 Mph). Can anyone recommend a steel/aluminum access hatch (w/ clear opening around 30"X36") that I can use for this type of situation? Most of the access hatches that I've seen have an H-20 rating but specifically listed to be used only for "off-street" location.

Try Googling Bilco Doors.

We have the same situation in South Forida. We use US Foundary more specifically a DT-AHD 36" X 48" steel hatch. It should weigh about 1400 lbs. anything lighter should be questioned. Good Luck

Don't use 'non-hinged' rectangular items for a wet-well cover. Use round. When someone drops that 1,000+ lb item on the pump. You will figure it out.

Good Point! Note that a round lid can't drop in either.

Sorry dicksewerrat, you said it and I didn't read it.

westend392,

See also East Jordan Iron Works for comparison to Neenah and Alhambra products (they all typically produce identical pieces).
