Does anyone have a safe way to steam clean pipe without:
-collapsing the pipe
-venting the volitale vapors
-any other issues

The piping is 4" 316 S.S. and contains normal pentane.

Thanks.

Steam clean without venting? Don't see how it could be done at a resonable expense...guess you could always take the vapors to a seperator to knock out liquid and then carbon filter the vent...seems like to much sugar for a dime. If you must clean without venting due to environmental reason or such, you might want to look into chemical cleaning methods like Hydrochem and Philips Services do...or talk to them about your situation, maybe they have an option I haven't seen.

Since it is stainless, follow NACE 170-97 practices for passivation if applicable.

These are only my ramblings...maintenance engineer, not chemical.

How about if the piping is open on one end? Wouldn't that provide enough venting for the vacuum protection?

Thanks
