We are a sheet extruder, we generate lot of static when rolling up the sheet in the unwinder bar. Is there an inexpensive way to reduce or eliminate static. I have looked at anti static bars, is there any other in-house method? We use copper gauze wire but not much success.

Thanks

Have you considered increased humidity or air ionizers? We use ionizers in ESD sensitive areas.

Hey, very topical! I do believe Polonium 120 is used as an alpha partical generator to do such a job.

Cheers

Your best solution is an inductive neutralizer like:

It is inexpensive to buy and install because no power supply is required, and will work as well or better than any other solution. Radioactive sources are used to eliminate static for lab balances but not high speed equipment because they have very low capacity for safety reasons.

Thanks, Compositepro. I ordered 20ft of the cord. Hope it works for us. I'll let you know.
