Hi,

I have a certain issue that I have not been able to deal with lately. It's about the specific resistance values that must be met by components that, according to API 650 or in Europe EN 14015, should be made anti-static. It is about floating roof seals.

Is it specified in any standard how much such a value should be, such as 10^8 Ohms?

I would appreciate any answers.

Which part of API 650 are you referring to?

Anti static in this case either means that the material does not generate static or provides a path for any static electricity to earth.

So for roof seals you would expect the seals to include metal elements which provide a path for static electricity into the shell which is then normally earthed in several locations to avoid the roof becoming charged with static electricity.

Is that what you menat?

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.
