Hi there.

I'm a structural engineer with 10y of experience. I already have a one man show company in my home country. For the past 5 years my main client is a UK based company. They mostly work with small residential stuff like extensions, loft conversions, internal wall removals etc.

Right now I'm trying to find out how feasible is to start doing work on my own in UK, but without moving there. I'm thinking about opening LTD there and taking Professional Indemnity.
Idea is to try and reach out and try to connect with small architectural companies in UK and provide them with structural design services.

Do you guys think it's possible? Any advises?

Where is home?

Anyway setting up a UK company is pretty easy. You will need a UK address, but plenty companies provide limited company address facilities.

Prob need a UK bank account and mm if your cover £85K turnover you need to register for VAT.

It's possible for sure and with a good website and a .co.uk address you can disguise our true location very easily, but better to be up front.

Then pay taxes here and you're good to go.

Home is in Serbia.

Being upfront is the plan. I think that is crucial for a business.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I will definitely try to go through with this.
