Hi, I've a question about standard views in an assembly. I've created drawings of an assembly but in te assemby file I've changed the standard views (I don't know how I managed to do it). So for example when I want to look at the front of the part, I click on the front view but it's not looking at the front of the view. I can update the standard views but when I do this the planes in the assembly are not correct.

Also, this has lead to the views in the drawing changing again and all the dimensions have been deleted.

Any suggestions on how to revert back to the original views?

God bless.

In the assembly, hit your spacebar. This will bring up a dialogue box. Hit the reset view button. I believe it's the one on the right. I don't know how the planes wouldn't be correct once you do this...

I noticed the same. Must be new users.

Yes I'm a new user. Had previously used Inventor and the views system seems a lot easier to use.

prephil,

Welcome aboard.... There is a very knowledgable group of members here, I have learned much from them over the years.

If you have some time to look through the FAQ's, there is a treasure trove of info contributed by the members.

I found the FAQ's useful when I was first learning SolidWorks.

Keep asking the questions and we will help you get up to speed with SolidWorks.
