I have a drawing which says to measure 3/4-16UNC-2A . I believe we do not have such call out in unified screw threads standard, it should be 3/4-16unf or 3,4-10unc.please suggest.

I would say 3/4-16 UNF it was probably a slip of the mouse and or keyboard. Been there done that one before. Do you have a cad file? Measure the hidden line and see if the minor match more of the 3/14 16 or the 3/4-10. Or look at the thread relief diameter. What makes sense at that diameter under the head of the screw.

I'd ask your customer. Never try to second guess an error.

Ask your customer, however if in this case you can't, historically I've found the thread dia & pitch to be specified more accurately than the thread family because, well, 1/2 the people specifying them don't know the difference between a UN, UNF, UNC, UNEF, UNS...

Kenat, you are being too kind with your "1/2 the people" comment. Maybe it should be 3/4 of the people.

What can I say, I was feeling all warm & fuzzy.
