Hi Folks:

I'm involved in design of a new product which will be shipped both via common carrier, and also in the back of pickup trucks on rough, improved roads.

I believe that the biggest loads on the product may be related to the shipping G forces, so I have to choose some values for analysis. I wonder if any one can point me to some standards or rules of thumb which I can use as guidance.

Thanks in advance for any help! & Best Regards, Louis

Your post is in the wrong place. Mechanical Engineering or automotive engineering other topics would have been a beter place.

However, FedEx, ISTA and ASTM have stanard test for shipping that include vibration. The ASTM spec D4169 is the most detailed.
