I have been searching for a standard to use that covers the fabrication of welded pipe assemblies for use in pressurized hydraulic control systems.

The designer of our hydraulic system recommended we follow the requirements of ASME B31.3 but it seams to me that this standard excludes hydraulic systems.

The system will be rated for 5000 psi working pressures and these are the connection piping from the hydraulic power unit to the powered cylinders & motors for a mobile crane application.

Any input is welcome.

Thanks

You should probably not be using B31.3. B31.3 is for process piping and does not include in its scope any considerations for its use in hydraulic equipment.
