Dear Fellow Members,

Hope you all are doing well.

I am looking for the maximum recommended/allowable flow rate at an oil terminal as per standard for filling lorries of gasoline and diesel both for bottom and top loading.

Looking to your guidance.

Best Regards
Sulaiman

I don't think they are any standard, only company guidelines and it depends on the size of your fill lines.

For a 4" I wouldn't expect more than about 100m3/hr.

A 3" line about 65 to 70m3/hr

Diesel maybe a bit less as you can get static issues.

Also flow at the start and end is reduced to avoid splashing or overfill.

Drive in to drive out should be about 25 to30 minutes per large tanker (30000 litres)

Is it what you are looking for?

ExxonMobil's std. XXIIIA
The number of loading spots and loading rates provided for a particular location are based primarily on minimizing vehicle waiting times to within acceptable limits during periods of daily peak operation, and on maintaining rack occupancies within recommended ranges during longer duration peaks and average operations. Pumping rates are often in the 500 to 800 gpm (30 to 50 dm3/s) range and turnaround times are usually about 15–20 minutes.

The pumping time is only one part of the total time taken.

That Mobil guide is good, but is not a "standard", but a company guidelines.

Bottom loading is lower risk.
