Good day to all,

Is it possible to SS plate weld over SS weld overlay or clad surface after PWHT as per ASME SecVIII Div1 Ed. 2019 or prohibited? and where is reference in code sections?

Regards.

I don't believe you will find anything about this topic in ASME VIII, Div. 1 (it might be in there somewhere).

Usually, this limitation is within customer specifications, or other recommended practices, like API RP582, where it states that welding is allowed as long as the cladding is 3/16" or thicker.

The devil is in the details; she also wears prada.

It has certainly been done on weld overlay cladding.
