This is a simple question to many of you but how do you make the cells be square in shape?

1. You can resize rows or columns by dragging. Mouse over the header rows. When you're on the line between two letters the cursor changes to a double-headed arrow - then drag column width.

2. Same for rows

3. You can select a row or column then go to Format menu. There is a menu item for height and/or width

4. To make an individual cell different from its row or column, select 2 or more adjacent cells and use the Merge Cells option from the Format|Cells|Alignmenmt tab

5. There is also a Merge Cells option on the Formatting toolbar

Please come back if I have misunderstood your question

Good Luck

As an additional comment, in Excel 2000, when following Johnwm's item 1 and 2 above, Excel will display the column width and row height values but also shows the pixels. By setting the column width in pixels equal to the row height in pixels, you will have a square cell. I think this is the only place the pixel value is indicated unless you can access it from VBA.
