I've noticed that sqlserver is using a lot of cpu resources even when SE isn't running, or hasn't even ran since the last reboot. For example, I rebooted right before leaving the office last night, didn't login until this morning. Process Explorer (a better Task Manager) reveals that sqlservr.exe used 24 minutes of CPU time, while the system had only be up for 15 hrs.
Is it absolutely required for ST3 to run? Or is it just for particular add-ons like Insight?
If it is necessary, is there a way to optimize the sqlservr config to free up resources?
Thanks in advance.
