Sprocket strengths?

Has anyone found information on roller chain sprocket strengths? I look in my browning book and it has a list of HP ratings per revolutions per min. However this information seems a little skewed. On a 60p chain it says at 50 RPMs i need a 45T sprocket to put 3 hp into it. Is that right? Anyone have a calcuation or some kind?

Torque = HP * 63025 / RPM

Force (chain pull) = Torque / (pitch dia. /2)

If you look at the sprocket ratings you should see that the sprocket ratings are designed to keep the chain pull within the limits of allowable working load, if you want a smaller sprocket you may need to use stronger chain.

I don't even know anymore. If you are in the conveyor business you should know them.
 
Ohhh i see that... you have it written in a different form.. i would find my output torque of my motor then divide by the radius of the pitch diameter to find my lifint force.. its the same concept

so thats my output load how does that correlate with my sprocket? your saying the sproket will never fail before the chain im suspecting?
