I would like to ask you for help. I am dealing with a project where I need to carry out analysis of glass roof supported in four points.
I am not sure how I ought to model point supports in FEM programme. I want to avoid complex 3D model consisting of volume elements of Ertalon washer and steel nut. I am going to model glass as a plate with holes with spring supports along them. Is that good idea?
The challenge is to calculate the spring stiffness (kN/m). Do you have any idea how I should do it? Ertalons modulus of elasticity is 3000MPa.
