Dear Members

1. do you know the procedure for how to conduct hardness testing on spring pin?
2. my friend says that hardness testing is to be done on moulded spring pin sample, where as some says that it should be done on flat sheet blank hardened with spring pin
3. does any standard specifies the correct method.

MIL-P-10791E PIN,SPRING,TUBULAR(COILED AND SLOTTED)PARA. 4.4.3 refers to hardness testing procedure depends on the strip stock thickness.

If I were an end user of roll pins, I would mount a cross section and do a microhardness check. If I were a producer, I would use the appropriate superficial hardness test on the strip.
