Hi,
Does anybody know what the pressure drop of "Spring loaded piston Check valve" is?
I could not find any number from Crane or Perry.

Thanks

It sounds like a standard spring loaded popet check like the one simmons and many other make.

You may also consider nozzle check valves made by Noreva.
They are spring loaded, axial flow piston type check valves with low pressure loss and non slam performance.

Just to be sure: You're trying to find an average pressure drop for a specific type check valve to use in a calc rather than trying to find a source for said check valve?

I take it, you've already hunted down whatever original paperwork exists for the valve and it doesn't say? And you've contacted the manufacturer, assuming they're still in business? Or you've gone in the field and cleaned off the valve nameplate to check there?

Thanks for your replies.
I am desiging a circuit which includes spring loaded check valve. I like to know what is dp of this type check valve. I need this for pump sizing.

Thanks again.

Shayar,
tell me the flow rate and pipe size and I can calculate the dp for a Noreva valve.

Thanks Gustorf.
Flow rate is 8.8 m3/hr and line is 2 inch.

Thanks again

Shahyar,
a flanged 2" Noreva NRV-ZK valve will have a dp of only 9.7 mbar or 99 mmWC or 0.14 psi at 8.8 m³/h.
