Spring hangers and load cells

I'm looking for somebody that has experience of using spring hanger pipe supports for pipes on to vessels that are on load cells.

We have been through this with our pipe stress engineers and they believe it is fine, as an alternative to using bellows/flexible. The problem is our end customer is not convinced and "expects" bellows.

I'd like to find somebody who has experience of using of using spring hangers instead of bellows that can ideally say, "Did that and it worked just fine".

@Miketheengineer, I've posted in pipelines as well but my try structural too. I appreciate this is a long shot and multiple posting is poor etiquette, but I know I've got to cast the net wide.

I don't have an issue with it, but you will need to compensate for the loads imparted to the spring hangers as they will affect the measured loads versus the actual loads on the load cells. This may be a good application for constant effort supports?

You can usually make constant load spring hangers work for most any installation you have problems with. Can't say the same for problem clients though.

What would you be doing, if you knew that you could not fail?

I think that it would depend a lot on the size of the tank in question and the level of accuracy that the client was looking for. Do you think that you can provide the same level of accuracy with the spring loaded hangers and straight pipe as with the flexible hose sections?
