hello - sorry for the lame post but i would like to know if anyone has a chart or table for spotface diameters larger then m36 - my table only goes to m36 nuts - any help would be appreciated - right now i used the same distance from the nut points on the m36 to the spotface diameter o.d. - thank you again

Well then you're doing it wrong.

You'd theoretically need the distance across the 'nut points' plus the position tolerance (and clearance of the bolt in the hole/holes if deliberately over sized).

If you have the head information for the M42 you should be able to work it out.

Posting guidelines faq731-376 (probably not aimed specifically at you)
What is Engineering anyway: faq1088-1484

hello again - i had taken all that into consideration when i came up w/ the dimension - i just did not get into the details of how i did it - thank you again -
