Splitting blocks

Hi, I'm new to Patran and was wondering if there was a way to easily split blocks/hexs. (CQUAD and CPENTA in Nastran). It seemed to be easy for tets but not hex's for some reason, which seemed odd to me.

Thanks for the help!
