Split Part alternatives. Creating Assembly Out of Bodies

Just curious as to any ideas out there in regards to creating assemblies from part files made from multiple bodies.

Is the Split Command the best tool to do this? What about when the part file are exceeding 100Mb?

You can do Insert > Features > Save Bodies to save each solid as its own part. Then add each part to an assembly. You can select which bodies to save (or not save) as separate parts, and it's a good idea to name each body as something descriptive before doing this (so you can figure out what you've got--the part will be saved as the solid body name in your feature tree folder).

With this method, you don't have to define boundaries along which to split up your part. Also, I think you may reduce your overall file size, but each part will still refer to the original multi-body part--and any changes you make to the original part file will be reflected in the saved-as-part files.
