I want to create a spline Data Table for a JIS standard Module 2.0 spline Is there a data table for Jis Standard splines as the data provided in the book varies from other spline standard publications?

There is an addendum to JIS-B-1603.
JIS-D-2001 has been added to the back of it.
JIS-2001 is a 20 degrees pressure angle spline designed for the automotive industry. It is now obsolete and has been replaced with the current standard; but is still used frequently.
There you will find the toleranceing data for the 3rd system.
JIS-1603 does not quote toleranceing using the 3rd system.

I am not looking for toleranceing I was just going to call out Class "A" (Loose fit). I am curious to know what is the required data to show on my drawing for the spline table for JIS standard. typically I will show:
Number of teeth
Module
Pressure angle
Base Diameter
Pitch Diameter
Major Diameter
Form Diameter
Minor Diameter
Base Pitch

Circular space Width:
Max Actual,
Min Effective
max effective
min effective
measurement between pins
pin diameter
fillet radius if applicable

some of this data is not shown the JIS Standard Manual
are there different requirements what would a gear cutter expect me to show on my drawing?

I'm still unable to determine what it is you require.

What do you mean when you say you are not looking for toleranceing?
If you are producing a drawing where spline data is to be shown it is imperative you show toleranceing.

JIS-B-1603 does not use Class "A" nor does it describe the type of fit in the way you have chosen. The system uses toleranceing methods to ISO standards.

You claim to have a copy of the JIS standard...........I highly recommend you read it as all the data you require for your drawing is there.

I am a designer, and I realize I still have much to learn with regard to splines I very much appreciate your help.

On several projects in the past I have reverse engineered splines. On occasion I have been able to identify them according to ANSI Standards. I have used the attached Table to provide the required information on my drawings. As The JIS standard Module 2.0 doesn't show the same information I am wondering how to display the necessary information, and for what information to display?

I read on on page 296
of the previously mentioned manual, that the fits are classified into 4 types Loose, Sliding, Fix, and Press Fit.
I want a Loose fit based on my sample.

Perhaps I misunderstood on page 302 Annex Table 2 where a Loose Fit coincides with a tooth flank fit Class A. I thought that meant on the module page, for a 22 tooth (Nominal Diameter 48 mm)Spline Item # 19 Class A was my Variation of tolerance.

I realize I may have more than one question wrapped up here but your continued assistance is appreciated. Ultimately I want to make sure my drawing has all the required data on it.

As I understand it; you are trying to use the toleranceing system of one standard and apply it to another.......this is not wise as it may lead to confusion.
You need to decide which standard you are to work to and then base your design on this.

I do not understand why, if you have a copy of JIS 2 module, that you just don't use the data from this in your drawing? The standard clearly shows how the notation on a drawing should be presented.

Page 59 of JIS B1603 2Mod external shows three ISO fits you can choose from 5h, 6h and 7h.
If you are reverse engineering the part; chose the one which is closest to the measurement you have taken from the sample.

How do you know the sample spline is JIS B1603?
If you post your measurements, I'll try to verify this for you.

I was pointed this direction from a tooling vendor.
He told me this spline has a 20°pressure angle, which is what led me to page 315

external spline
22 tooth
Major Diameter: 46.65 mm
Minor Diameter: 42.54 mm

Internal spline
22 tooth
Major Diameter: 47.90 mm
Minor Diameter: 43.95 mm

let me know what else ou may require to identify this

Measurements over and between pins. Pins can be any size as long as they are the same and do not seat on the root diameters or seat up high near the tips of the teeth.

Two base tangent lengths measured over the best fitting set of external teeth. Calliper contact should be tangent to the involute curves at all times.

In case you are not reading my posts; Page 315 of JIS B1603 is for 30 degrees pressure angle profile not 20 degrees pressure angle. You need to look in the addendum to this standard which details the obsolete 20 degrees pressure angle profile.

If you know the profile is 20 degrees, why do you keep referring to JIS B1603 30deg profile?

Ok thanks I really lost you for a second there.

My spline is a 22 tooth.
what information from this table should I put on my drawing if I want a loose fit?

You need to get me those measurements I've asked for.

So far with the dimensions you've given; it looks more like a DIN5480 spline as there is nothing that comes close in the JIS 20deg P.A. standard.

With the measurements I require the base pitch can be worked out to determine the pressure angle.

OK I machined down some aluminum to create two pins Ø 2.95 mm
on the external spline the measurement between pins is 48.96 mm

Two base tangent lengths:
10.21, 10.19

Actual pin diameter for this pitch should be around 4mm or larger. Are you sure the 2.95mm ones don't touch the root diameter?
Best fitting BTL measurements would be across 3, 4 or 5 teeth. I'll need all of these to check the base pitch.

Is the root diameter the same as the Minor Diameter? the pin is tangent to both walls and does not make contact anywhere else.

The BTL across 3 teeth: 16.09, 16.10
across 4 teeth:22.09, 22.06
acrss 5 teeth: kind of hard to measure
