In its simplest form, I have a tapered cylinder with flat ends. I want to maintain runout between the angled surface of the cylinder, and one of it's ends.

I used a combination of runout between the end face, and the angled surface, and also a perpendicularity between both ends of the tapered surface (the two ODs) and the end face.

is this correct? I figure if the two "rings" that make up the ends of the tapered surface are prep to teh end faces, and the runout of that tapered surface is true to the end face... we are good. Just not sure if there is a better way to do it. thanks!

JordonMusser,

This post should be under the Drafting Standards, GD&T & Tolerance Analysis forum.

Can you post a copy of your drawing?

More importantly, what is it you are trying to accomplish?
