I am building a prototype plotter for an industrial application: it has to plot onto a steel table 13x1.2 m the contours of prefabricated concrete slabs.
I would like to use as the ink for this machine a liquid based onto ethylene glycol (the kind that's used as antifreeze for cars) because the machine operates in open air and in the night the ink could freeze in the tank and in the ducts.
However the colouring of liquids available on the market is too light (almost transparent) for the ink to be readily visible. Moreover the surface to plot is quite dark (almost black): the ink should have a quite saturated preferably white colour.
I would be very grateful for any suggestion on an additive for the liquid that would suitably colour it. The additive should ideally be a solute with an almost zero dry residue, in order to avoid clogging of the ducts by deposits.
