I'm a long time NX user, and I've recently started using solid edge, I'm dissapointed with the performance of my spaceball (space traveller), in NX the rotation is always screen based, and so rotations are easy to control, and i can easily right click - "set rotate point" and select a centre of rotation, but in solid edge it only seems to want to rotate about the wcs, which is useless if you have a large model, is there a way to set the rotate point in solid edge?

Yes, Along the menu bar you should see ad-ins, click this tab and you will see 3Dconnexion's icons. One of those is 'set rotation point'. I'm using ST2, if you are using v20 then there should be a set of icons for the space traveller.

Make sure you have the latest driver. This button was greyed out not so long ago and only fixed on a recent driver.

It is annoying at times but in SE you seem to have to define the rotation point, rather than it following what's in view.
I always assign a button to this command, and one for activate, but I use a Spaceball 4000 or SpaceExplorer.
