Spaceball 4000 in Catia V5R16

I cannot get my spaceball 4000 (serial) to work with catia. It works fine with other applications such as Pro/E but is not being seen by CATIA. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a spacemouse plus (serial) and it works like a charm.

I just strted using CATIA and V5R16 is what I have. Like I said, it works in other programs (Pro/E, MS office, ...) but not in CATIA.
