We currently use methylene chloride to remove cured resin from equipment and tools at a Plastics Composites Manufacturing Facility. Because of the health hazards and enviromental concerns associated with using this toxic chemical, we are looking for an alternative means for cleaning our equipment. Are there any other chemicals capable of dissolving cured resin or is there another proven method for cleaning this equipment (i.e. sand blasting, oven, or other)?

Check the following website for Controlled Pyrolysis Furnaces for cleaning different components used in the plastics industry. We have 7 of these in various sizes that operated almost 24/7/365 with no problems. They are very inexpensive to operate and the environmental people love them.
If your products are ammendable to Pyrolysis this is the way to go.
