Hi, <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Im trying to import a Assembly from Solidworks to Ansys
In order to not use the Design Modeler interface of Ansys im trying to create all the contact faces / surfaces in Solidworks (which appears to be easier!!)
im am creating surfaces of all my parts- then suppressing the solid bodies leaving 'thin' surfaces/ complex geometries are simplified (nuts/bolts/rivets etc. arereplaced with simple 'barbell' shapes)
To generate the contact surfaces required im am editing the part modelswithin my assembly then creating sketches of the contact areas then using the insert > curve > split line - command in Solidworks
Now my problem is that in several areas multiple parts are bolted together

Seems its the best way. Instead of split lines you can use as well cutting of small ammounts of material in SolidWorks and edit contacts areas Ansys Workbench.
