My problem is tu study the behaviour of a regenerative volumetric vapour compressor.
The machine is a sort of axial compressor where the fluid exiting the blades turns around a toroid and enter again the same blades, being compressed and accelerated again. In this way the pressure gain is mainly along the toroid in tangential direction more than axial.
The axialsymmetry hipothesis cannot be applied as the flow is highly not axialsymmetric.
I attach a picture of the sector of the compressor.
I wonder if it is possible to model just a sector of the compressor (ex 90°), applying a pressure and a flow BC to the 2 section, in global rotating frame. And then extrapolating the result to the whole toroid.
Thanks for your help.
