After modelling a 3d part with solidworks and I want to generate a 2d drawing, on the drawing sheet shows all the view and dimension lines but figures and Title block are blank. When the very drawing Tab is minimized and the cursor is place on that very Tab it shows the attached picture. What might be the possible cause? Any Tips?

Where does the title block pull information from? Usually there's a list of parameters associated with a project file that is used to auto-populate those entries.

Skrilla,

I don't have SolidWorks in front of me so I am guessing a little.

In the drawing, pull down the File menu, and select Properties. Search through the Properties tabs. There are ways to populate drawing templates with model data. Go to your model and search for properties there too.

Thanks for your reply Drawoh and MacGyverS2000 The attached pictures are sample of my current problem in the 3d tab I have all the data regarding material and other infos in the properties which I think when generating the 2d part drawing this information should automatically appear in the title block including placing measurements and dimension lines . But you can see in the second picture the whole title block is empty and no measurement added even trying to call up the property in 2d there was actual no information connected to the work piece. I hope this gives a more clear view of my problem.

Skrilla,

The SolidWorks drawing has a feature that automatically populates the view with your model dimensions. This is a nifty sometimes, but most times, a good drawing is one on which you applied the dimensions yourself. Your model should reflect your design requirements. Your drawing should be a specification for your fabricator to meet.

All that Properties stuff starting with "SW-" is pulling metadata off your model. You may have to edit your drawing template to see how the text got there.
