Hello All,
I just looked up current SPR's at the SW website and noticed that SW has come out with a customer web portal. It looks pretty cool and is pretty easy to use until you click on "forgot password". Has anyone else tried it or have any thoughts on it?

YOur seat of SW must be registered in your name if it's not you need to find out from your VAR who is registered to that serial number. Once you are registered to that serial number you can enter your email and password used to make your sign account. It will be the same if you initially signed up in the customer portal to get your registration code. If you have not ever made an account, then you need to do so with the link provided.

You can get into the site with just a serial number, but you will have limited access. I found yesterday that the submit enhancement request link was broken, sometimes it would work, but others it would not. It would loop back to the page you started from. SW is aware of this issue.

It looks like they pulled the website for now to fix any broken things that have been found because now when you log in you get the old way of doing it.

This new login will be a pain like any change is, but it is going to be much more beneifical to you as a customer then you might think. You will a Knowledge base that is so much better then anything you have seen before and it stays updated to the recent version. That alone is worth having the new interface.

Scott, I noticed the same thing with the site being there, and then not. I won't miss the old way of logging in since my browser (or the SW site) would never "remember" my serial number upon entry, even upon request--annoying.

Good to have a page of links upon entry such as the discussion board, hardware specs, etc.

The new one was worse then the old one on remembering my log in serial number... that has not changed yet... I see and ER that needs to be written... I walsy thought it was just my browser.

Hi All,

I started a blog a couple of weeks ago and I posted my thoughts on the
SolidWorks subscription service this morning. I thought this might be
an appropriate time to do so since the new "customer portal" will be up
soon. I know this topic comes up here from time to time and I'd be
intrested in knowing if my thoughts are in the majority or minority.
If you have a chance, check out the post and add your comments.

You can access the blog from my website.
