SolidWorks 2008 created an extra subdirectory under SolidWorks called SolidWorks
Now the path looks like this: C:\program Files\SolidWorks\SolidWorks
I have called our VAR and he said if I did not delete the SolidWorks folder, SolidWorks would create another folder. I know I had delete the folder before starting, but I did another clean uninstall. The extra folder came back just like before.

My question: Does anyone else who installed SolidWorks 2008 get a path:
C:\program Files\SolidWorks\SolidWorks

Bradley,

In SW08 SW creates a folder for every major Add in you have installed on the system under the first Solidworks Folder. For example, on our Premium machine I have a path that looks like this

c:\program Files\Solidworks\Solidowrks
c:\program files\Solidworks\COSMOSWorks
c:\program files\Solidworks\SolidWorks Explore
c:\program files\Solidworks\COSMOSMotion

etc...

It's just a way for the software to stay organized, and a decent one at that IMHO.

Thanks DekkerDesign

LOL, yeah right, like I'm ever going to surpass CBL. Maybe if he gives me a 20 star head start....and doesn't post on the forum for 6 or 8 years....then maybe.

Bradley:

You may find that this will give you some problems. Now that they have organized it this way, the file locations that it searches for don't reconize the second folder. I had to go in and manually change all reference file locations for hole data, sheet formats, etc. Just something to keep an eye out for, if SW starts saying that it can't find a file.

ejc,
It has already happened. I have remapped my macros and paths
