Whenever I have alot (3 or more) of models open the measure distance seems to fail and solid edge will lock up as with V12 it would not. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have never experienced your specific problem. I have experienced a similar problem which revolved around the use of a non-CAD capable graphics card. The graphics would freeze, but everything else was fine. Give it a few minutes and the computer would come back to live. Problem is, the measure tool needs to be dynamic and the graphics card couldn't handle it. Close and reopen SE to clear the memory. That may help.

I am facing the similar problem to what Mr.Scott has mentioned.I am using an acer note book with 64 mb graphics card,1 gb memory and the graphics card is SIS 650.I guess the problem is with Open GL and my card is inbuilt. Can any one help me how to rectify this.

Sounds to me that you need to upgrade your graphics card. Solid Edge has a list of acceptable cards located under the help menu/technical support.

You can run Solid Edge with a lower end card but you can expect delays, especially when large calculations are involved.

Version 14 is more demanding than 12 due to the added surfacing tools.

The comparison between cards is similar to running a Pentium 4 and a Pentium 2. Big difference.
