My workplace has the habit from long ago of putting draft file notes as text boxes inside of a blank drawing view. It supposedly makes it easier to align everything and keep the formatting consistent. No one can figure out how to make one of these blank views in ST3, we can only copy and paste them from previous drawings. The view is not a view of the 2D Model Sheet, is not linked to any geometry whatsoever, and is not just a free standing text box. When I right click it and hit properties, it says it is a 2D View. The Layers menu calls it a Draft view.

Any idea how I can create this type of view in ST3 without copy and pasting? Attached is an example file.

I know in earlier versions you could place a 'model view' and then change it to a 'draft' view, but that seems a bit convoluted.

It was called "Draft View" and was kind of depricated in that it was removed from the menus. It is still there, but to use it you must add the menu item back, and I believe in ST3 you may only be able to add it to the Quick Access Toolbar.

Thanks PellaKen! I had tried adding it to the regular menus. It is strange that you can only add it to Quick Access.
