Solid Bodies BOM

I have modeled a part made up of two solid bodies. I have entered said part into an assembly with another part. Now when I make a drawing of the assembly the BOM only recognizes the solid body as a single part. Is there a way that I can have the BOM recognize this as two different parts rather than inserting them as two different parts and assembling them?

Short answer ... No

Multi-bodies are not separate parts; they exist to assist in creating a part.

However, an assy can easily be created from a multi-body part.

RMB on the Solid Bodies folder in the Feature Manager, select Save Bodies and use the Create Assembly option

You can create a configuration of the part as well, then insert two different configs into your assembly. Kinda defeats the purpose I guess. Just depends on why your doing what your doing!

Agree with CorBlimeyLimey!

A BODY is a fractional part, which is not qualified as a part. If you like, you can create a cut-list for your multi-body part. Not sure if that serves your purpose.

Generally speaking, if you do what you say, your assembly and BOM shall be fine.
