A question was asked one day that when the main circuit breaker is off is the solar energy off? Also we have a system that says it has multibile power sources coming into our main panel, my answer was yes it is off. Does anyone disagree ? We have roof pv panels , no batteries, and it is suppose to put electricity back into grid that isn't used. Is the dc off from panels should cb shut down ? Can anyone explain how and when we use this pv power? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Duh?? Your circuit breaker does not control the sun; please elaborate.

If you mean whether the PV panels are still operating, the answer is yes, they're just not moving any power, and the power is dissipated as heat in the panels.

Thanks irstuff for trying. I should have added the "solar energy is off to the main breaker".

I expect your circuit is a bit more complicated then that. Feeding power back into the grid is nice, except when there is a line down and the repairmen are trying to fix it. Then having one side (yours) live is a safety hazard. I expect there is something to disconnect it; maybe your breaker is a multi-pole version so it shuts of both? Maybe not.
