I have a cd with software code on it. I am wondering how others control this in there doc control systems. What kind of cover page or drawing is recommended to go along with the physical CD?

Since it's digital, why would you want to leave it on the CD?

Why wouldn't you just enter it into your DCS directly, which also has the benefit of backups (presumably) as well as postponing the day when someone wants to read the CD, but no one has a computer with a CD drive on it anymore?

Not to mention the storage volume of a digital file is infinitesimal compared to even a CD wrapped by a cover sheet.

And, it can't get lost unless you lose your entire DCS.

btw, this forum was intended, I think, for questions about servo or PID control loops, not control of documents, per se.

There is an engineering project management forum on this site, which may be more apropos.
