Welcome to Eng-Tips!

You are right. This site is great. It is so because there are certain rules that we try to follow. Some of them is to use punctuation, capital letters and some structure when posting questions and answers.

Your technical contents is OK, I think. But it would help if you could present background, what tests and measurements you have made so far. What your conclusions are and what your questions are.

A few tips:
Identify make and size of SS and motor.
What does the motor drive?
Tell us about your grid.
Tell us what measurements you have made and the results.
There may very well be someone out there that has had exactly the same problem as you have. But it is more likely that you get good advice if we know more about your installation.

And, please, don't txt! Use English.

Half full - Half empty? I don't mind. It's what in it that counts.

If you give us the make and model we may be able to RTFM for you.

Sounds like you should call Eaton tech support again.

Maybe it has a bypass contactor and the contactor is not closing so the starter is running on the SCR's and the heatsink eventually overheats?

Model of soft-starter? S801 or S811 or one that I don't know yet!
Why re-adjust the main breaker settings? Did the main tripped the first time? On what type of fault?

I would check the connections tightness on the soft-starter.

How hot is it in the room?
