Hi!

does anyone know a affordable smd test fixture to measure SMD components with a network analyzer?

I am looking for a test fixture where I can place SMD components up to 0402 with N-type or SMA connectors. Something similar to this, but simpler

Thanks!

What I have done in the past was to design a microstrip circuit on a PCB where I could solder the component to be tested and used board-edge SMA connectors. I had several layouts on the same PCB so I could test SMD filters, baluns, and other components from the same project, plus a thru-microstrip line of the same length so I could calibrate the analyzer. Had the boards made at my usual prototype PCB house. Worked great for evaluating different companies who said they made identical baluns in the same footprint.

Hi,

great!. That´s what I exactly did as well. It did the job. But in order to make the process faster I was thinking doing something to avoid soldering the component. Coilcraft has some test fixtures, but expensive for me.

Thanks for your ideas!
