SMD capacitor colour code

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is any colour code for SMD ceramic capacitors? I have observed that capacitor have different colours, like grey, brown. Is there any relation to their capacitances, are this colours related to a capacitance range?

There is no color code in regards to ceramic SMD capacitors. The ceramic material itself varies depending upon the temperature coefficient type (NPO, X5R, Y5V, etc) and the color of the ceramic will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. But even with the ceramic, there is no standard or guidelines that are followed, so there is nothing to learn from the color of the ceramic.
