Slurry Wall for Shear wall foundation

Does anyone have experiences using slurry wall instead of drill piers as shear wall foundation? In this case the slurry wall is not used to support the sidewalls of excavation, but the vertical force, shear and overturning moment transferred from the shear wall. Can I design it as a regular RC shear wall? Any particular issue I need be cautious of? Any design references?

I can't help you much on design references. But I just recently finished a large garage renovation project where the garage was a 3 story structure beneath a 12 story building.

The perimeter walls were tied-back slurry walls, about 2'-6" thick and reinforced. They used the walls as permanent retaining walls for the underground garage levels and they served to support vertical loads as well - not for the 12 story tower as that was inside the footprint, but for the perimeter floors and slabs at all ground level and below - the walls supported the gravity loads.
