Hi,
I have created a part in Solidworks 2012 and I use equation to input parameters for my design. My part contain 2 simple solid bodies. I have around 20 to 30 global variable that are use to set position of points in a 3D sketch. The varaibles are from a linked file. In this situation solidworks is not slow it is terribly slow. It takes around 40 sec to 1 minute to define a plane base on a 3D point and an axis. It is all the same for all operations. The problem is not the machine ( I7 3.8 GHz, 24Gig RAM, Quadro K1000M 2Gig ). I'm running a second instance of solidworks with an other design (without global variable) and all is working perfectly.
What is the way to speed up this design
