Does anyone know how to determine the length of slotted holes? Are there any standards for them or how? I need slotted holes for sliding saddle support of heat exchangers, and I don't know what length to use. I allways draw it approximately but I need to be correct?

Thanks

Actually, I need length of slotted hole, for known diameter

I do not quite get it. Where are these slotted holes? In a bearing?

No. Heat exchangers have saddle supports, and one of them is fixed but other is sliding. Heat exchanger lies on them actually and they are needed to accept small movements of heat exchanger. So, I know (for example) that bolt hole is 30mm, but I don't know the length of slotted hole.

Maybe I missed the forum activity (I mean subforum), but I'm new one here, and this is question about constructing, so if I'm in the wrong section of the forum, I would be glad if someone can redirect me to the right topic.

Thanks

I see. I do not know what forum that would be. Boiler and pressure Vessel, perhaps?
