So I am planning to put a custom made channel that will embed into the concrete (the sketch is plan view). There will be a steel structure that will slide thru this slot that will resist hydro-static pressure. How do I design this other than the bearing on the concrete face? Will the studs see any load? Or do you think I just need minimal nelson studs just to make sure the channel is embedded? I am not sure where to start. I feel like minimal steel channel thickness and minimal nelson studs would suffice.

I'm not sure of the dimensions of your slot or your studs, but I think that when this is scaled you're going to have fit up issues. Three inch studs (pretty short!) and a three inch deep channel, leaves only four inches below the studs. Another thing; If this channel is bent, the corners will be rounded, making the structure not fit flush. If it's rolled, there will be a fillet at these corners. Regardless, it will be hard to make water tight.
The studs deepen the shear plane. Instead of a 45 degree plane from the channel bottom, it will be starting from the studs.
