sloped wood rafters to vertical beam detail

I have roof rafters at 3:12 being supported at midspan by a double LVL beam, currently shown vertically aligned with the wall below. So, do I notch the rafters, notch the beam, or shim the gap? I've seen vehement arguments for/against each and wanted opinions on here. Thanks.

The above is if the rafters frame into the side of the LVL. Otherwise, notch the bottom of the rafters and set them on top of the LVL. Do not notch the LVL.

IMHO

1) Do not notch the beam. You can check with manufacturer of the LVL about over sizing and sloping the top of beam. Be sure to get something in writing and sealed. Unless you are willing to take the responsibility of design and warranty of the LVL.
2) Avoid individual shims, if possible.
3) Use a sloped nailer plate.
4) Notch rafters.
Be sure to check the first three connections for horizontal thrust.
