Ariver is flowing along a direction N20E. Three joint sets are found at both north and south.
Joint set A: N45W, 90; Joint Set B: N35E, 70 SE
Joint setC:N30E,5NW.
Which side of the valley would have more stability problems under excavation?

The northwest side of the river. Set C is forming a bottom plane dipping into slope on that side of the river. On the other side it is adversely bedded right into the river.
