Although I have been getting this error for a long time, and trying to unsuccessfully chase down a way to get rid of it, I've seen it the most today.

Yesterday/today we uninstalled all our software and upgraded to SW2006 SP1.0 and upgraded PDMWorks. I have been converting the files on my computer to '06 ALL DAY. Finally, it's near completion, but I've started seeing this error message and everytime I pick "ok" it just shows up again.

"SolidWorks Offic Professional 2006: sldworks.exe - Application Error"

"The instruction at '0x660d8f5e' referenced memory at '0x00000076'. The memory could not be 'read.' Click on OK to terminate the program"

I've seen this message before (it doesn't always say it's a sldworks.exe error). Has anyone else seen it before?

Even though we installed another gig of RAM in each of our machines today, I've been seeing different variations of the "memory could not be read/written" message for a long time. I've searched the internet and are multiple "solutions." The most likely is that it's something to do w/ Internet Explorer 6.0. Many of the messages I get seem to be related to it. I'm not a computer whiz, & unfortunately, we have to kindof act like our own IT department here. BTW, I have Windows XP Professional, Version 2002, SP 1, but I have read somewhere that people still have this problem with SP 2.

Take a look at
Scroll down to the 0x00000076 section. It mentions a patch & hotfix for this problem. Although the examples mentioned are not directly linked to your problem, there is a good chance that they may resolve it.

Thank you CorBlimey, just before I read your post one of my colleagues got off the phone w/ support, who reminded us that you have to re-apply a hotfix every time you update the PDM software. Hopefully this will correct the problem.

What is the hotfix number & what is it supposed to fix? No-one else in the forum has mentioned having to do this for a PDM update.
