Can anybody tell me where to get a hard copy of SLC 500 Reference manual (instruction set)?

Go ask your local distributor for one. Chances are they have them there but if not they can order you one. There may be a charge but usually they will just give them to you.

Of course you could always print out the PDF, but I can't help but ask why? I don't know what I would do if I had to navigate a manual without that Find icon. It saves me a lot of time

A hard copy has its advantage, let say on the bed you can read , it's convenient than pdf copy.
Sure, PDF can do "search","marking". I just like to have a hard copy one.

I have not used a hard copy of a manual in years. Good advise from TWControls is to use a pdf file and use the search button to fine what you want immediatly. PDFs are free, hard copies of manuals cost you money.
