Hi all,
I’m having some troubles finding the best method to simulate skin friction in rammed piles for tensional forces. Currently I’m working with Das&Seely method but doesn’t works properly for a layered soil under my opinion.
Any recommendations for such situations?

Thank you,

Two ideas.....

Apply the lowest value of skin friction from the various soil layers over the entire pile length

OR

Measure the results from a test pile

Standard skin friction methods for clay and sand can be applied together.

make a weighted average.

Consider using the Beta method as advanced by Fellenius (all soils and states, not just sandy)
